New Era x Billion Creation San Diego Padres Ostrich Camo Prototype

The San Diego Padres Ostrich Camo was a design we developed in 2015. We originally thought of using faux ostrich in 2010, around the time Oprah brought attention to the $30,000 Birkin bag made out of ostrich skin. We created another hat that was called the Ostrich Vize, which was 100% faux ostrich everything in a cream color. For our second foray into utilizing faux ostrich, we decided to use this fabric as more of an accent to create a unique look. The crown of this cap is a light urban camo pattern with white logos (white SD logo, white NE side logo, and white MLB Batterman logo) to create a design with a brighter colorway. Then we used a dark graphite-colored faux ostrich as a top visor to add both a color contrast and a stylistic contrast to this design, melding light and darkness, urban and the wild. Underbrim is also the same light urban camouflage pattern to maintain consistency. In keeping with our earlier designs, we incorporated a gold 59Fifty sizing sticker inner lining print on the interior of the front two panels. This design was never put into production so this is a genuine one-of-a-kind hat.
